Spartan Soap uses classic ingredients tested over thousands of years to nourish, cleanse, and rejuvenate.
We combine vitamin-rich, extra virgin olive oil with a refreshing blend of natural scents so you can clean good, smell good, and do it all without hormone-disrupting ingredients.
You might just be using whatever you can find to clean your body.
But cheap conventional soaps are often loaded with artificial additives - parabens, synthetic fragrances, and phthalates - which are linked to hormone disruption and a host of other issues.
And while "natural" soaps do tend to be better, they don't always take the extra step of filtering out essential oils that studies suggest may harm testosterone (like lavender and tee tree oil).

Ingredients (Long Version)
Coconut Oil: Used as far back as 2500BC within the ancient Harappan civilisation in modern day India, coconut oil is used both for its cleaning power and ability to produce a thick, bubbly lather. We use it to make our soap bars hard and durable.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Cherished for thousands of years in the Mediterranean, olive oil has been used in soap making since at least 2800BC. Prized by the Ancient Greeks for its moisturising qualities. We use it for its nutritional power: packed with vitamins A, E, and antioxidants to rejuvenate the skin.
Water: A necessary part of the soap making process that evaporates out and extends the life of the soap.
Lye: With use in Ancient Rome, lye is a strong alkali that's crucial to the soap making process. Through a chemical reaction, lye transforms fats and oils into soap. After the curing process, no lye remains in the finished product, however it's still worth mentioning.
Shea Butter: Originating in West Africa with documented use in Ancient Egypt, shea butter is a natural fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree. Rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, shea butter is a potent moisturising ingredient.
Green Clay: A gentle exfoliant that helps to absorb excess oil.
Cedarwood Essential Oil: Believed to be one of the first essential oils ever recorded, cedarwood oil was used in Ancient Egypt, Sumeria, and Rome. Its scent is warm and woody.
Bergamot Essential Oil: Mostly grown in Southern Italy, bergamot is a small citrus fruit whose oil extract has been used in colognes as a star ingredient for centuries. Its scent is fresh and floral.
Castor Oil: Used both for medicine and beauty in Ancient Greece, castor oil adds further moisturising power.
Patchouli Essential Oil: With early cultivation in Southeast Asia, patchouli was traditionally used as an aphrodisiac. Its scent is musky and sweet.

FAQs
How long will a bar last?
It all depends how you store it and how you use it. But when kept out of direct water with 1x shower per day, a 100g bar of Spartan Soap will generally have about 4 weeks worth of use in it.
Why bars and not liquid?
To put it simply: it's more simple.
A bar stays good on its own without heavy preservatives, and doesn't need to sit in a plastic bottle that leeches microplastics.
Even if you're used to a liquid pump, we don't think it'll take long for you to see the benefits of the way we do things :)
Do they feel oily?
No! Because the natural oils we use undergo the process of saponification, our bars don't feel oily or greasy.
Why is it expensive?
It's true - we don't refine petroleum byproducts in a massive industrial factory. We use high-quality, natural ingredients which isn't cheap for anyone.
However, using our bars can still be as cheap as $0.40 a day. In our opinion, that's more than worth the benefit.

Every bar of Spartan Soap is made in Queensland, Australia.
